2. Red Ant
kingdom: animalia
phylum: arthropoda
class: insecter
order:hymenoptera
family: formicidae
genus: solenopsis
species: solenopsis
invictor
3. mammal, anfibain, fish, birds, insects.
13/5/10 Matter Solids Liquids
As you can see in the first diagram it starts off as a solid but as the temperature gets hotter it turns into a liquid, then gas, then plasma. In the second digram you can tell that when you start off as a solid in needs to melt to get to a liquid then the liquid mixed with the heat turns into condensation wich makes gas. Also if you follow the second diagram you will see that from a solid you can get to gas with Sublimation.

3..
SOLIDS: PARTICLE ARE CLOSER TOGETHER. DON'T HAVE THAT MUCH KENITIC ENERGY- DESK: HARD
LIQUIDS: PARTICLES ARE FURTHER APART THEN SOLIDS BECAUSE THYERE IS MORE KENETIC ENERGY SO THE MOVE AROUND MORE- WATER: FRAGILE
GASES: THERE IS SO MUCH KENETIC ENERGY IN GASES SO AS A RESULT THE PARTICLES MOVE AROUND LOADS - WIND: NOTHING ( NOT SURE HPW TO DESCRIBE FEELING
THE MORE HEAT YOU ADD THE MORE KENETIC YOU GAIN. WHEN YOU SUBTRACT HEAT THE PARTICLES BECOME COLDER SO THEY HUDDLE UP TOGETHER AND HAVE LESS KENETIC ENERGY.
4.
Why do icebergs float in antarctic and arctic waters? I THINK THAT THEY FLOAT BECAUSE THE ICE BERG IS A SOLOID AND IS LIGHTER THEN THE WATER WHICH IS A LIQUID.
Do you think there is much of the iceberg under water or is it mostly above the water? I THINK MOST OF IT IS UNDERWATER BECAUSE ONCE I SAW A DOCUMENTRY WHERE IT SAID MOST OF IT WAS UNDER THE WATER.
How could you test your hypothesis? BY GOING TO THE ARCTIC AND LOOKING FOR YOUR SELF.
5. When you have a jar with a very tight lid, you can run it under hot water and it becomes easier to open. Why? IT IS EAISIER TO OPEN BECAUSE... (I DON'T KNOW) SORRY
CAN YOU TRUST YOUR SCENCES???
-How do we rely on light and sound? we rely on these 2 sences because they guide us in everyday activities. without these scences we wouldn't be able to do many things that we can today. 1. Where does the most bending of the light occur in the eye? The Lens
2. Describe how the lens works
the lens is a clear covering of your eye, it allows light to travvel to the back.
3. Why do we squint when exposed to bright light?
your pupils havn't clased enough so too much light is getting in, its your natural instinc.
4. Which parts of the eye are involved in focusing?
5. Discuss the implications of losing one eye?
Task 4
DOLPHINS
Echolocation is a sensory sonar system that dolphins use for communication and for locating things in their environment.
Dolphins release a focused beam of clicking sounds and then listen to the echo. From this they can determine where the object, for example a fish, is. Dolphnes don't have very good eye sight but because they have echolocation they can see in much more complex ways then we can. Dolphines mainly use this sence for hunting and seeing.
